To enable to understand the concept of Risk Management and its importance to the operation of cooperatives, two directors and one management staff participated in the Risk Management and Information Security Orientation Workshop held at Mass-Specc Development center , Dinaville Subdivision , Anahaw RD., Ma-a , Davao City on September 5-6, 2019.
Participants from Toril Community Cooperative were Directors Alicia Rugay, Dr. Gemma Guadalupe and Ms. Rose Ann Liparanon, TCC designated risk officer. The orientation workshop discussed what risk is, its triggers and its management; to provide an overview on how to put in place a Risk Management Program and oriented coops on IT security and the risk that coops encounter in the use of information technology. Resource speakers were Ms. Aida Borja-Sagarino,CPA, Enterprise Risk Management Unit and Gina Roiles-Securata, both from MASS-SPECC Development Center. The workshop concluded with a cooperative resolution to create a Risk Committee composed of three members who shall formulate policies of each risk Management Committee.
