Directors Gemma V. Guadalupe, Alicia B. Rugay and Renato Carillo, Jr. attended a Training/orientation on GAD Mainstreaming in Coops Using the Computerized Assessment Tool held at Star Hotel Davao , lot 14, Block 6, Mabini Street Corner Voyager Brgy. 9-A Poblacion Davao City last October 4-5, 2019. The training / orientation aimed to assist the GAD committee and GAD Focal Person of cooperatives toΒ mainstream GAD in their cooperative using the results of the Computerized Tool for assessing the Program of Gender Equality(GE) in primary cooperatives.
Facilitated by GERC Inc., the Gender Equality Resource Center Inc.developed the computerized version of the GAD Assessment Tool to enable cooperatives to even more effectively and efficiently use it in gender analysis and planning. It can be recalled that Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) , Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2017-04,β Tool for Assessing Progress of Gender Equality in Primary Cooperatives as Supplemental to Memorandum Circular No. 2013-22β which provides for cooperativesβ use of the Tools in implementing GAD-related activities that would lead to achieving gender equality. Participating coops were also provided with the computerized program of the GAD Assessment Tools. The workshop required a laptop where the participants rated their own cooperatives using the computerized assessment tool. The scores correspond to the status of GE in our cooperative in the different areas of assessment. 0 is the lowest score and 4 is the highest. The ratings could determine the strengths and weaknesses of the cooperative. The weaknesses constituted the bases for
the GAD Plan of activities. The training /orientation closed with the presentation of outputs by cooperatives and a closing program.
