Edchel Borja, a member of TCC from the Mintal Branch, who currently resides in Binugao, Davao City, made the first ceremonial coop inter-branch withdrawal transaction. He used to travel 16 kilometers away from his area just to make transactions with TCC.
“Para sa ako-a kay mas gwapo nga ing-ani, inter-branch, nga bisag unsa nga transaction, mas duol na para sa ako-a kaysa moadto pa ko sa Mintal. Dari nalang ko sa Main Branch mo deretso kay mas duol ra man
(For me, it’s good to have this inter-branch transaction in our co-op because I could go to a nearer branch instead of going to Mintal. Starting now, I will make transactions here at our Main Branch since it’s the nearest),”he said.
Another member from TCC’s Puan Branch, Marian Geraldine Rita M. Josol, made the first coop inter-branch savings deposit transaction. She has been a TCC member for over three years
TCC member Louie Anthony Osias, who is originally from Mintal Branch and currently lives in Toril, made his first loan payment at the main branch. He is glad that he does not have to go to Mintal Branch to do this.
All seven branches of TCC can now accept transactions from members of another branch, such as deposits, withdrawals, balance inquiries, and loan payments. TCC General Manager Marivic D. Madrio officially announced the good news to their members.
Co-operatives have long encountered challenges in making services more accessible to their members. MASS-SPECC has endeavored to continuously develop digital solutions to help co-operatives meet this challenge.
MASS-SPECC’s latest solution is Pinoy Coop Core, an automated accounting system. It includes all basic banking applications and advanced functionalities, and supports end-to-end financial processes. From DOS-based Pinoy Coop Core v1.0, it gradually evolved to WINDOWS-based Pinoy Coop Core v2.0, and now into a fully integrated WEB-based centralized system – the Pinoy Coop Core v3.0.
The latest version of the system allows co-operatives to generate integrated and consolidated financial reports. Since it is web-based, the co-op’s head office can monitor the transactions/operations of all its branches, and consolidate their reports in real-time. This makes the co-op’s accounting process smooth and reliable.
Through Pinoy Coop Core 3.0, all the co-op’s branches are inter-connected and members can easily have access to their accounts.
With Toril Community Cooperative as the first co-op to use the Pinoy Coop Core v3.0, TCC will serve as a model to other co-operatives in Mindanao in leveraging technology to serve members better.
Pinoy Coop Core 3.0 will pave the way for interconnectivity among co-ops.
